Why After 15 Years Isn’t 9/11 a Federal Holiday?

As we remember 9/11 anniversary prayers continue to go out to all the families who lost loved ones and first responders  who lost their lives tragically that day and later. We will never forget.

Perhaps politicians could ensure  we honor those words spoken in some form or another every day since 9/11 with a federal holiday closing schools and government to mark the day and reminding all of America and future generations.

Especially, since I understand New York schools will be closing to celebrate a Muslim holiday in September. If we can pay the money to close schools for a Muslim holiday certainly politicians can figure out a way to pay for 9/11 to be a federal holiday. Just something to think about after 16 years.

This issue was addressed in the Huffington Post last year by Sandy Malone the wife of retired police captain. When she learned the issue was money. See her remarks by clicking on the below link listed in references.
